Family members of wife that was stabbed to death at midngith by husband in Ikorodu, cry out

The family of a Lagos teacher, Mrs. Titilayo Shodipo, who was allegedly killed by her husband, Omolaja, in the Ikorodu area of the state, have said the suspect might have killed her for a
an evil purpose.

Her mother, Maria Ahinaje, called on the police authorities and the state government to arrest the suspect and bring him to justice.

PUNCH Metro had reported that Omolaja, 40, and the late wife had been married for the past seven years and had four children together.

The relationship was said to have been fraught with disagreements and fights.

It was learnt that last Monday, the suspect allegedly beat up his wife and stabbed her to death after another disagreement at their home on Insurance Crescent, Logunlogun village, Igbo Olomu, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Neighbours were said to have found the 39-year-old in a pool of blood, after which policemen from the Owutu division were invited.

The corpse was moved to the Ikorodu General Hospital mortuary, while the suspect was declared wanted.

The family of the deceased on Friday said that they had asked Titilayo to quit the relationship but she refused because of her children.

Her mother, Maria, alleged that Omolaja was a drunk and an absentee father, adding that they were the reasons for most of their disagreements.

She said, “My daughter endured seven years of hardship and pain. When they started their relationship, I told her not to marry him, but she said she loved him.
“When they got married, he started beating her on a regular basis. He drank a lot and had extra-marital affairs. He would buy little foodstuffs for the family and when the food is exhausted, my daughter and her four children would start begging for food on the street.
“Most times, I had to send them foodstuffs and send money into her account for them to survive.”

She explained that when Titilayo was pregnant with her second child, Omolaja assaulted her.

Maria, who said their family hailed from Ipokia Local Government the Area of Ogun State, and not Benin Republic, said the deceased left Omolaja and started living with her then.

She said, “One day, she said she wanted to visit her family clinic in Ikorodu. Her father said she should use our hospital in Ketu and even gave her N3,000, and she agreed.
“Before we knew it, she called her father and said she was not returning again because her in-laws had intervened and persuaded her to return to her husband.
“I stopped going to their house three years ago because my daughter told her husband bad things about me, saying I didn’t encourage their union. Because of that, the man started misbehaving towards me.
“He probably used my daughter for evil purpose before stabbing her to death.”

She said that the couple’s four children had been taken by the suspect’s elder brother, urging the government to take custody of the kids.

Titilayo’s father, Apostle Simeon Ahinaje, said although the family wanted justice for the deceased, it was not ready to pursue any case.

“We want government agencies to do their jobs and prosecute the suspect. The law should take its full course. They should find him and deal with him. However, we have decided not to pursue any case; we have handed over judgement to God as true Christians. Nothing will restore the life of our daughter,” he added.
He described Omolaja as a “hoodlum” who did not deserve his daughter, adding that like the mother, he also warned against the union.

“But when our daughter insisted on marrying him, we had to let her have her way,” he said.

Attempts by PUNCH Metro to reach Omolaja on his mobile phone were futile, as the line was switched off.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, said investigations were ongoing into the case, adding that the command was still searching for the suspect

A Nigerian singer asked ladies if they can marry a man currently earning N35, 000 and got these responses

Singer Tunde Ednut  a while ago posted this message above asking ladies if they can settle for a guy earning N35, 000 and he got these responses:

Mimi.wonder:  So far I love him, I know who I am. So 35k would go a long way added with my own income.

Hikmatyusuf: I don't think so.... Here In Kano you are expected to spend not less than 200k for the so call "kayan lepe " just to visit the family members and fix a date. With 35k how z he gon do that?

Susansmilez: As im single sef i consume more than 35k monthly. Mbok i cant and God would not let me meet such

Pretty_d2:  Of course I can...A woman should not be a liability to a man!!Make your money and have a life first before planing on having a partner..Its even fair enough he is earning a salary monthly...What If he is jobless and doesn't have a life ????Every man will start from somewhere in life💯Dangote wasn't born a rich man..Obama didn't have an idea he was gonna be the president of America! Women should learn to be independent and not date for money...

Amira__issa: If the woman brings home another 35k or so then it should be good I guess. It's not easy out there, even people with degrees are struggling to get a job.

Debbiecookss: Jokes apart, yes I can,if the man has strong vision ,he's very hardworking and has all the attributes of a great man. And Since I'm working too I will help with the bills. I know when everything becomes good and when the big money comes I will surely enjoy to the fullest. I believe nothing like when he gets rich he will start misbehaving and forget me, that will never happen to me by God's grace. YES I CAN DO IT BAJE!

Eikechukwuodum: All these girls saying no upandan, I shake my head really. Better open your eyes and face life. Pray you don't get married to someone who is apparently very well to do and later may later start experiencing financial issues that would mean you going lower than 35k a month because such things happen and trust me it's even more demoralizing because you'll have to go back to the point where you didn't even start from. So again, starting small and rising isn't such a bad idea if the man has potentials and you have the will to bring out the best in him.

Loelah_aman:Hmmmmmm..... all these ladies saying yes yes yes...... be real sisters..... unless he has a side bussiness that earns him better money or you(the lady) has a good a job..... What kind of life do you expect to have with 35k. That sum wont even pay for petrol for a car and a generator for a full month..... wake up and smell the gbegiri....35k .....what kind of budget will that family have.... you can date him

Sunday daily devotional by Pastor E. A. Adeboye ( Open Heavens 30 April 2017) – Spiritual Blessing

Topic: Spiritual Blessing [Sunday 30, April 2017]

Memorise: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:Ephesians 1:3

Read: Ephesians 1:1-14 (KJV)

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Bible in One Year: Number 28-29, Jeremiah 23:9-22

MESSAGE:

From our memory verse today, we understand that there are physical blessings and there are spiritual blessings. The best way to distinguish between these two categories of blessings is to look at their lifespan. Physical blessings are temporal, while spiritual blessings are enduring and external in nature. An example of a physical blessing is the rain that God sends on all of humanity. Another example is the air we all have access to breathe. Having a wife or a husband also falls under the category of physical blessings, and so also is having children. Both physical and spiritual blessings come from the Lord.

However, the better of these two categories of blessings is spiritual blessings. Spiritual blessings, though manifesting in the physical world, transcend the present age. This is why Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:19 thus:

“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”

Spiritual blessings cannot be quantified in material or monetary terms. They include the Holy Spirit and His gifts, power and victory over principalities and powers, redemption through the Blood of Jesus, the forgiveness of sins, etc. The crux of all spiritual blessings can be seen in this response of our Lord Jesus Christ to the question about reward for sacrifice which Peter asked Him:

29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, 30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.” - Mark 10:29-30

The spiritual blessing of eternal life crowns the physical blessings we have access to through our fellowship with Christ. No matter how long we live on earth, we shall depart from it one day. The question is, “Where will you spend eternity?” Would it be in Heaven or in Hell? My prayer for you is that you will not spend eternity in Hell in Jesus’ Name.

Action Point: Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour today, and you will be blessed with spiritual blessings. If you are saved, pray that the Lord will load your life with His spiritual blessings today.

Sharia court forcefully marries Christian girl to Muslim tailor boss in Niger state

A Sharia court sitting in Erena district of Shiroro Local Government Area, Niger State, has forcefully married out one Janet Habila, a Christian girl to her Muslim boss, one Nasiru, a tailor, without her parents' consent.

This decision by the court has sparked an outrage by the parents of Janet who have vowed to challenge the court decision with their last drop of blood.

Janet Habila, 16, was an apprentice in Nasiru’s tailoring institute in Erena, where her father had enrolled her to learn the trade after she refused to further her education beyond primary school.

According to the SunNews, Janet’s father, a devoted church leader with the United Mountain of Grace in Shundna village and Janet herself, until recently was the leader of the Sabo Rayi (new life) group in the church.

Janet was enrolled in the tailoring institute in 2016 by her parents as a way of empowering her, but
rather than learning the trade, the parents were shocked to receive a notification of her marriage through a Sharia court in Erena.

Nasiru, a Nigerien national who settled in Erena, was said to have approached the court to join him and Janet as husband and wife without seeking the consent and approval of the parents.

According to a source close to the family of the girl, Nasiru was said to have craftily organized some Muslim men and women in the area to stand as the parents of Janet in court to enable the marriage to take place.

Habila Gambo, Janet’s father told Sunday Sun that unless the decision by the Sharia court, presided over by Umar Shehu to forcefully marry his daughter out to her Muslim boss without his consent was reversed, “it will eventually lead to a possible religious crisis in Erena.”

Gambo warned that even if such illegality had happened elsewhere and they get away with it, “Erena and its environs would be thrown into confusion and possible anarchy by the practice of forced conversion and marriage.

Narrating what happened, Gambo said:
“Sometime in 2016, I enrolled my daughter, Janet in Nasiru’s tailoring institute as an apprentice to learn fashion design since she refused to continue with her education. She never disclosed to me that Nasiru was asking for her hand in marriage.
“But to my surprise, on March 16, 2017, I came back home and met a court summon, asking me to report at the Sharia Court, Erena. On getting to the court, I was told that my daughter had converted to Islam and that her marriage had been fixed for 2:00pm that same day.
“I told the Sharia court judge that as a father of Janet, I was not aware of such arrangement because my daughter never discussed anything like that with me. Therefore, I was not going to accept it and I would not be part of it.
“But to my surprise the judge told me that the court only wanted to inform me and that was all. He said that the marriage would go on as planned even without my consent.
“My daughter had never told me that she wanted to convert to Islam not to talk of marrying a Muslim, I paid a lot of money to train her and I would not allow this to happen while I am alive.”
He promptly reported the matter to the Niger State Police Command through a formal letter, urging the police to intervene and rescue his daughter from what he called “unlawful marriage” to Nasiru.
“I am urgently appealing to the police command to intervene to stop any religious crisis that may erupt as a result of this abuse of office by the judge and the criminal act of this Nasiru,” Gambo said
Sunday Sun gathered that following the complaint by Gambo, and to prevent a possible breakdown of law and order, the police promptly arrested Nasiru and detained him at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Minna.

However, when asked to narrate what transpired, Janet told the police that she could not recall what actually happened but that she discovered that she was taking every instruction from Nasiru.

Janet who looked sober when she was first brought to the police headquarters, said in Hausa:
“I was confused, I didn’t know what happened, but I was taking every instruction from him (Nasiru).”
When asked why she didn’t inform her parents of Nasiru’s intention to marry her, Janet said:
“I was afraid to let my parents know because of the consequences and I was equally afraid to turn down Nasiru’s love advances even though inside me I didn’t like the idea.”
After taking her statement, Janet was handed over to the parents and were asked to return to the police after five days while investigation into the matter continued. However five days later when Janet and her parents returned to the police headquarters, there was a mild drama as Janet demanded that she should be allowed to say something, which, according to her, had been bothering her since she was handed over to her parents.

When she was given the opportunity to express herself, Janet took her parents by surprise when she declared that she was not returning home with her parents as she was ready to join her husband, Nasiru.

A visibly shaken father of Janet broke down in tears and wept uncontrollably as he watched his daughter being handed over to Nasiru by the police because the court had earlier pronounced them husband and wife and it was only the same court that could dissolve the marriage.
“This will never happen in my life time. My daughter is not a stray animal, and even a stray animal has owner. Nobody can take my daughter from me for free without my consent, I will challenge this with the last drop of my blood.”
Meanwhile the mother of Janet, Asabe Gambo got the beating of her life when she went to visit her daughter in the home of Nasiru by his relations, who described the mother as an unbeliever who came to poison the mind of Janet.
Narrating the experience, Asabe said:
“I only wanted see my daughter when the women in the house gathered and started beating me and calling me unbeliever who should not be welcomed into the house.
“They told me that my daughter was now a Muslim and, therefore, did not need any unbeliever around her. They didn’t allow me to even sight my daughter with my eyes. I am seriously in pain, as a mother who carried her pregnancy for nine months,” she lamented.
“I want God to take my life instead of experiencing this kind of situation as a mother. This is quite unfortunate, I don’t want to believe that this is happening to me.  My daughter’s sudden change of attitude is not ordinary. As a Christian, I strongly believe that God will surely pass his judgement over this unfortunate experience. My daughter will surely regain her senses and return back home.”
Forceful conversion of Christian girls and marrying them off to Muslim suitors through the Sharia court in the state without the consent of their parents remains a great concern and a threat to peaceful co-existence among the two major religions in the state.

Back in 2013, 24-year-old Charity Uzoechina, a student of Federal Polytechnic, Bida and a daughter of a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, suffered a similar fate when she was taken into custody in the palace of the Etsu Nupe and married off to a Muslim without the consent of the parents.

Charity had left her parents in Abuja to further her studies at the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State, unknown to her parents that it was the beginning of many days of sorrow.

Instead of the formal education she had gone to Bida to acquire, the young Christian girl was allegedly pursuing her new faith of Islam at the palace of the Etsu Nupe.

For the parents, the pain was not just that Charity abandoned her Christian faith, but that she was completely separated from them.

She was alleged to have converted to Islam on her own volition and changed her name to Aisha.
However, contrary to these claims, Pastor Raymond Uzoechina had insisted that his daughter was a victim of forced conversion to Islam.

Like in the case of Habila Gambo, the RCCG pastor, called on security agencies to investigate activities at the palace of the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, to ensure that many people there had not been forced to convert to Islam and then held against their will.
“Apart from my daughter, there are so many people at the palace. There is need for the police to investigate and ensure that the people are not suffering the fate of my daughter,” Uzoechina had said, stressing his belief that his daughter was kidnapped and hypnotized, making her to lose her sense of reasoning.
As happened in the case of Gambo, Uzoechina had received a phone call from an aide of the emir, asking him to come to the palace.

Recalling that agonizing experience, Uzoechina said:
“On getting to the palace in Bida, the man said two women brought my daughter to the palace saying that she had embraced Islam and withdrawn from school. Those women even claimed they had taken her through the rudiments of Islam and had also started looking for a school for her.
At this juncture, I demanded that I am going home with her. But the man declined, saying only the emir had the power to allow the girl go with me. They took me to the emir but the emir refused my plea, saying I should come back the following week.”
Pastor Uzoechina got the greatest shock of his life when he tried to take his daughter but was told that she had been placed under the custody of the Sharia Court, which ordered that Charity be entrusted to the Etsu Nupe, who should employ a qualified Islamic scholar to teach her Islamic customs.

Rapper chops off his own p*nis and jumps off a buliding (photos)

Andre Johnson

Andre Johnson is the Wu-Tang Clan-affiliated rapper who rose to notoriety after chopping off his own p*nis with a kitchen knife.

He has however revealed he still has s*x.

According to The Sun UK, LA rapper Andre Johnson, 43, who is known to fans as Christ Bearer, hit the headlines in April 2014 after severely harming his genitals and then jumping off a second-floor balcony at a party.

Three years on, Andre has reflected on what led him to perform such an extreme act of violence against himself in a new BBC Three documentary.

“I just jumped up, outta nowhere and I went to the kitchen,” he said.

“I grabbed a knife and, bam, I pulled down my pants and” – he mimes a chopping motion – “that quick”.

Doctors were unable to reattach the severed part of Andre’s p*nis after surgery, but he says that doesn’t mean his manhood has lost all function.

“When I’m actually having the act of s*x, it’s not like, ‘Oh I wish I still had my s***.’ It’s like, ‘I’m in there.’ Like it used to be,” he said.

Andre was hospitalised after the incident and diagnosed with having suffered a period of severe depression. He was later referred to a psychiatrist.

He believes attitudes around mental health need to change, especially among young, black men in the hip-hop community.

“Due to that macho air, no one even notices if they are going through depression,” he said.

“In my neighbourhood you don’t tell nobody you depressed and s***,” he said.

“When we have mental health issues, we turn to drugs – you know, ‘smoke this’, ‘have a drink. Maaan, you need to get high’.”

When Andre and his rap partner Meko were signed to Wu-Tang records in 2004, he said: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.”

He revealed he began dabbling in banned substances: “Maybe you did a little bit of PCP [also known as angel dust]? You did a little bit of weed? You drank a little bit?

“You start getting, like, a thousand dollars every other day, you goin’ do a whole lot of PCP, you goin’ do a whole lot of weed, you goin’ drink a whole lot… it got outta control.”

On the night of the penis-cutting incident, Andre had taken PCP, meth, weed and drunk alcohol.

He says his relationships with women were in his thoughts in the moments before he did it.

“At the back of my mind, my issues were eating me. I was thinking my interaction with women have been just callous, no moral code,” he said.

“I said, ‘I will fix this problem that is causing me so much misery.’ That’s when I think the insanity kicked in. I said, ‘Yo, my d*** is outta control. I need a vasectomy.”

Andre now lives in Las Vegas with second wife Amatullah and their daughter.

Amatullah commented: “We were both at the bottom when this started so the thought was, ‘we got to straighten this out and, whatever it takes, we’re willing to do.’”

Andre has now addressed his mental health issues.

He said his psychiatrist “was the greatest”.

He added: “I needed her right before the incident. S*** really helps if you get the right one.”

Andre says that he still suffers from “a slight depression,” but that having his wife and daughter by his side is helping with his recovery.

"What most people don’t know is that being a babymama is even better than being a wife.

Frankly, I am not against any woman opting to be a babymama, in fact I believe it is good and more peaceful. Being a babymama you enjoy the father of your baby more than if he were your husband.

You can have access to him whenever and wherever you want without any family pressures or restrictions. When you are a wife, there are limitations and restrictions and there’s little room for heartaches. More women are opting to be babymamas because their lives are more peaceful and enjoyable."

You once said you don’t wear bra, can you explain why?

"Yes, I don’t wear bras because I don’t feel comfortable with it but I do wear it now because my man is not comfortable with my not wearing it. I guess it is because of my sexy boobs."
But they are not big?

"They may not be big but they are very special. They are one of the most beautiful parts I love in my body. Medium boobs are sexy and more attractive than the big ones. All kinds of boobs are good though but mine are more attractive and sexy."

What’s your take on sex generally?

"In my opinion and experience, sex is best experienced within a committed relationship where two people have agreed to be exclusive with each other and to explore their sexualities together. This doesn’t have to be within marriage. However, in my opinion, relationships should not exist solely to provide a means for sex. Relationships should be a beautiful tapestry, of which sex is one piece.

And within that relationship, sex should only exist with an incredible amount of communication. The communication should be about when people are ready for different stages of sex, what people like and dislike in sex, and at the core of all this communication should be consent. Our society talks about and does consent very poorly (which is why we have such a high rate of sexual violence)."

Why are Yoruba films so poorly subtitled?

"It depends on the editors; we have good and bad ones. Another reason is that some bad producers find it difficult to pay editors good money. So, what they got is what they paid for."

Finally, what are your biggest dreams as an actress?

"One of my biggest dreams is to become a musician. But all in all my biggest dream is to do what nobody has done in the industry."

Mercy Aigbe's husband, Lanre Gentry speaks from Dubai

The internet went agog on Friday, when reports of the sudden crash of the 7 year old marriage between popular Actress, Mercy Aigbe and her husband, Lanre Gentry broke.

In frantic efforts to get confirmation from the family, few minutes ago, GoldMyneTV put a call through to Lanre Gentry who is currently in Dubai.

They enquired about the situation in his home and marriage and Lanre Gentry said, "Every marriage has its issues and mine isn't exempted. My wife and I have our issues but I'm surprised at the gravity of things been reported online that I did. I'm not that kind of man and can't do such, I have never beaten and never would beat my wife. Only weak men do that"
.
Domestic violence/ battering was fingered as the reason for the sudden split. You would recall that this isn't the first time rumours had placed the marriage between them as broken. In 2013, the couple had to respond to such allegations with a video that went viral.
.
Further fueling the current allegations are pictures which have gone viral showing Mercy Aigbe's battered face, an hospital report showing fractured skull and a post on her Instagram page speaking against domestic violence.
.
Based on evidences available, time can only reveal the true episodes that led to this situation as fingers still remain pointing in different directions.
