Man sued after filming woman while breastfeeding!

A woman has taken a male colleague to court, alleging he secretly filmed her as she expressed breast milk at her workplace. The man allegedly set up a live link in a private room at the institution on June 13.

The woman wrote in a blog that she was angry that providing food for her baby was “sexualised in such a cowardly way.”
According to reports, the man has been charged and further investigations are being carried out.

Western Cape police have confirmed that a case of crimen injuria — the intentional harming of someone’s dignity — is being investigated against the 38-year old university employee.
Local media quoted the mother sharing her “disgust” at the act.

She had been in what she thought was a “safe, locked space” expressing milk, when she noticed that she was being filmed.
“I’m disgusted that we live in a world where mothers, no matter how they choose to feed their children, are victimised for being vulnerable.”

Gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has debunked rumours making the rounds that he narrowly escaped death while coming from a programme he anchored two days before his birthday.

Bassey who had recently been under criticism by a few media personalities, following the ‘#HallelujahChallenge: one hour praise has vehemently debunked this news adding that it was just another false story from bloggers to drive traffic to their site.

It all started when the gospel singer shared a testimony by one of the participants of the 30-day praise challenge on his Instagram page attesting to the move of God.

He said, “Please ignore any fake news about an accident. Bloggers have twisted someone’s testimony just to gain traffic. At least you can now note those with fake news and stay off them.”

N4bn Judgement Against Sahara Reporters: Saraki Releases Statement
President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on Thursday commended the judgment of an Ilorin High Court that ruled that the publisher of the online news platform, Sahara Reporters, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, should pay him the sum of N4 billion ($11.1 Million) as damages over a series of libelous stories published against him by the medium in 2015.

Saraki, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, stated that the judgement issued against Sahara Reporters for constantly publishing false, libelous and misleading stories that were aimed at defaming his person, was a testament that the moral arc of the universe will always bend towards justice.

“One thing is clear by the judgement, there are systems in place in our nation for all citizens to seek redress if they have been unfairly treated in any way,” the statement read, “This judgement is a fulfillment of our promise that we will explore all legal means to seek redress for all the fabrications and mudslinging that Sahara Reporters has thrown at us over the years.

“This judgement demonstrates that our justice system can and will continue to protect the fundamental human rights of all citizens from being infringed by anyone. Moving forward, the purveyors of mischievous stories can learn from this precedent that has been set. The ruling by Justice Adeyinka Oyinloye, will serve as a deterrent to all those who profit by propagating ‘Fake News’ to blackmail innocent citizens or curry undue favours.

“This judgement is definitely not a victory for the Senate President alone. It is a victory for all the victims of the falsehood which Sahara Reporters daily dole out to rubbish the reputation of innocent Nigerians, many of whom either out of fear, lack of the patience to consistently pursue a court case for years or lack of belief in the ability of the system to give them justice decided to live with the injury to their reputation. The judgement is another vindication for our country and her solid enthronement of the rule of law as against the rule of men.

“Dr Saraki believes this judgement would provide inspiration and encouragement for all those whose reputations have been unduly and unnecessarily injured by SaharaReporters and its ilk who are purveyors of false news to seek redress through the courts.

“He sees the verdict of the High Court against Sahara Reporters as a positive development with the potential to reassure individuals and firms who would in future come under undeserved attack by publications which spread falsehood aimed at maliciously casting them in bad light.

“The judgement provides a redeeming point for the noble profession of journalism which has as its sacred, cardinal principle the pursuit of facts at all times and in all situations. The journalists and news media who have devoted themselves to the pursuit of truth but appear to be overwhelmed by those who trade in falsehood and sensationalism now have a reason to be proud that they are on the right path. That is another meaning Dr. Saraki gives to this judgement.

“However, the Senate President will like to assure all and sundry that he will not spare any legal efforts and expenses, both in Nigeria and abroad, necessary to recover every kobo of the cost awarded in his favour from the defendant.

“The restitution from this judgement will be channeled to set up a Foundation whose aim will be to support pure and unadulterated investigative journalism and assist the families of real journalists that die in the line of duty. The money will also be used to support genuine publications whose owners are struggling to pay salaries of workers or meet their ever rising running cost. Part of the money will also be channelled to help lawyers who have been providing pro bono services to litigants, particularly, on cases bothering on enforcement of fundamental human rights.

“It should be noted that the methodical and dogged manner in which Dr. Saraki pursued the case despite the ceaseless barrage of false allegations thrown at him by the Sahara Reporters should assure all Nigerians that he maintains a solid belief in free press, free speech and responsible journalism and that he will do every thing legal to fight those who want to use journalism as a destructive, blackmail and oppressive instrument. This latter brand of journalism will not help our society and has no role to play in the emerging Nigeria”, he stated.

Melaye: Constituents File Suit To Stop INEC's Recall Process
The Concerned Kogi Registered Voters (CKRV) numbering 18, have filed a suit at a Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking to stop the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from commencing verification of signatures collected in order to recall Senator Dino Melaye who is representing Kogi West Senatorial District.

Addressing newsmen on Thursday in Abuja, ‎the convener and secretary of the group, Olowosayo Gabriel Sunday and Amupitan Babayomi Segun claimed that names of dead persons and people who do not reside in the district appeared on the recall register submitted to INEC.

The applicants, who faulted 188,000 signatures which were submitted to INEC, noted that while 111,534 voted in the general election in Kogi West, the total number of registered voters in Kogi West is 360,098.

According to a copy of the motion which was made available to newsmen, INEC which is the first respondent was sued alongside eight other respondents, comprising some aides of the state governor, Yahaya Bello and state lawmakers from the senator's district.

In their application, the plaintiffs said, "that 2nd to 9th respondents fraudulently opened a recall register and signed signatures for registered voters in Kogi West Senatorial District.

"That some of the names of the registered voters that appeared in re said recall register were dead voters and some voters who were not even residing at Kogi State and they were at different parts of the country when the purported signatures were fraudulently collated by the 2nd and 9th respondents."

However, the convener of the indigenes, Olowosayo Gabriel Sunday, who is also the first applicant in the suit, said, "That as at the last announcement, INEC itself agreed and announced a figure of PVC collection in Kogi West that is far less than the alleged 188,000.

"That we are aware that there is possible connivance between the people on the recall agenda and INEC because we have evidence of photograph of PVCs in thousands gathered together for the recall, an act contrary to the electoral act."

Read touching story of a woman who cannot remember being married after suffering an unexplained seizure (Photos)

Sally and Neil are pictured on a boat they own; Sally cannot remember most of the trips the couple have been on

Sally Hobson, 39, of Claygate, Surrey, has spoken candidly about the moment her memory was wiped clean, so she didn't know her own husband or remember being married. She suffered an unexplained seizure in January 2014, plunging her into a coma for six weeks. When she woke-up, it was as if she had been reprogrammed – and couldn't remember the past five years.

Details beyond this were also vague, so she didn't know her husband.
Now, diagnosed with epilepsy, every time she has a seizure - which can be seven times a month - her memory is partially deleted.
Sally Hobson, of Claygate, Surrey, suffered an unexplained seizure in January 2014, plunging her into a coma for six weeks. She couldn't remember her husband or wedding and struggles to remember details of her day
This condition is so unfair,' said Sally, in her first ever interview. 'I suffer severely, both long and short memory loss after seizures. This condition seems to worsen with every seizure. Each episode taking away a little more of my life. I don't remember my own wedding day, birthday parties I've had, any hobbies I have'.
With the help of friends, family and particularly her devoted husband, Neil, she has started piecing the jigsaw of her life back together.
But it has been devastating for Sally who, before her first seizure, was a retail manager.
Married to Neil in April 2012 in Surbiton, who she met through a friend in May 2008, they were trying for a baby.
Speaking about the unexpected seizures she experiences, she said: 'Each episode taking away a little more of my life. I don't remember my own wedding day, birthday parties I've had, any hobbies I have' (Sally and Neil are pictured on their wedding day in April 2012)

Sally can still remember how to brush her teeth, put the bins out, dress and eat, but huge life events, like her wedding, have been wiped from her mind.
She doesn't know her birthday, wedding day or other significant details from her past.
She also forgets names and events shortly after they happen.
'I won't remember if a friend has invited me round for dinner next week,' she said. 'It's pointless reading a book, if you forget the first paragraph before reaching the second chapter. The past is just a blur, almost a vague dream.'
Sally's memory loss has left her feeling like she has been robbed.
'Three years after leaving hospital, I might open a cupboard and something at the back will catch my eye - possibly a yoga mat,' she continued. 'Then my husband will tell me how I started classes weeks before I was ill...when I can't recall having any interest in it. '

Sally and Neil at one of her university friend's weddings, in 2008, not long after the couple met. Sally says she has no memory of the hen do or this wedding

How popular Benin pastor lured 25 years old lady into prostitution!

A 24-year-old girl yesterday painted a sordid picture of how a pastor she fellowships with at the Heavenly Ambassadors’ Ministries Inc. lured her into prostitution.

Florence (surname withheld), a former stylist, dancer and singer while with the church located at Isihor on the busy Benin-Lagos Expressway in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, said she was tricked while she was 18 years old by Pastor Endurance Eghoze to travel to meet his sister based in Russia with the hope of assisting her to look for a greener pasture overseas but ended up in the web of street hawkers there.

Florence said she worked tirelessly for four years (2013 to 2017) to pay an agreed sum of $45,000 (about N17.1 million) to her ‘Madam’ and trafficker, Ms. Vivian Eghoze, who later dumped her on the streets of Russia before she was deported home in February.

Already, operatives of the state police command have arrested Vivian and her brother, Endurance.

The arrest was made possible following a tip-off by an Edo-based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Initiative for Youths Awareness on Migration, Immigration, Development and Reintegration (IYAMIDR).

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Moses Nkombe, confirmed their arrest.
He said: “The matter is being investigated by the police.”

Florence, who has been reunited with her family, is begging for urgent assistance from good-spirited individuals and government.

She said after paying her ‘madam’ the huge sum, she is also battling to save herself from a mysterious ailment.

Vivian and Endurance have allegedly trafficked over 45 girls for prostitutions overseas.

The victims said they were daily subjected to excruciating conditions in cold of the nights to meet customers without anything to show for their years of enslavement.

According to them, even their parents and relations wallow in hunger, poverty and emptiness except for the lavish lifestyles of their hosts and their exotic cars and eye-pooping mansions.

Florence explained that her trouble started in late 2012 when her mother amid cries and wailing narrated her plight of being locked in huge debt to their pastor, who is also the second in command of the church, who quickly cashed in on the ugly situation to convince her to join his sister in Russia.

She added that a few days before she travelled to Lagos to meet Vivian’s close relations, her mother who was in Benin compelled her to take an oath of secrecy after collection of her pubic hair, pants and braziers while ‘madam’s uncle also raped her in a hotel room where she was lodged preparatory for Russia and sternly warned her not to tell anyone about the illicit act.

She said: “I had to borrow money to do my passport. She keeps calling and assuring me that all will be well. I was made to take oath of allegiance.

“I borrowed N30,000 from a cooperative society, to do my passport and I told her (Ms Vivian) that my passport was ready and she said okay. And from there I proceeded to another level at which she called Endurance that they would be the ones to run everything and that my mind should be at rest. After some weeks, she called me again and gave me words of encouragement. That was how we ended our talk.”

US Based Nigerian Doctor Cries Out To Government Over Murder Of His Mom

A Nigerian medical doctor living in the U.S has called on the Nigeria government and her security agencies to urgently unravel the circumstance surrounding the murder of his mother at their Umuoshi village in Avutu, Obowo Local Government Area, Imo State Nigeria and ask for the prosecution of those behind the wicked act.

The only child of his parents, Dr. Ikechukwu Nwosu accused the Nigeria Police of asking for money before carrying out the investigation into the murder of his mother.

Calling for justice, he alleged that two out of the three suspected killers are in police custody and have confessed to the crime before being transferred to the State CID in Owerri, from Obowo police division.

He shared the photo of the two arrested suspects and that of the one at large as well as giving details of his encounter with the police below:

"My name is Ikechukwu Nwosu, I am a Medical doctor based in the United States of America, but a native of Umuoshi, Avutu in Obowo Local Government Area, Imo State Nigeria. I am the only child of my parents, Mr. Emmanuel Nwosu and Mrs. Maria Nwosu. I have never felt as much sorrow as I am feeling at this moment writing this story and begging the Nigerian people to join me in seeking justice for the death of my precious mother, Mrs. Maria Nwosu who was shot and killed by gunmen in our home in the village at Umuoshi Avutu in Obowo Local Government Area, Imo State Nigeria. "

He said :
"Thursday, June 8, 2017 9:07pm (USA) ET/Friday, June 9, 2017 2:07am Nigerian time, is a day and moment I will never forget because it is the time I received the worst call of my life. I was informed that my mother was shot and killed by unknown gunmen, and “fortunately” for me, my dad was not killed as well. You can imagine how I felt, given that I had just finished speaking with my parents over the phone two hours earlier when I got off work before I got that horrible call. Mind you, my mother was supposed to be getting ready to come to the US to visit me and my family including her newborn grand-daughter on June 23, 2017."

The only son of the deceased stated
"When I called my dad, he was already at the hospital where he and a family member rushed my mum in an effort to save her life. Of course he was distraught at the time. He could not even communicate with me because he was crying so deeply. When he finally got himself together, he managed to tell me how the incident unfolded, and how the love of his life was shot in few seconds without him having a chance to protect his wife. He went on to tell me that he had gone to the Police Station at Otoko (the headquarter of Obowo Local Government) to report the horrible crime that just happened; however the police first asked for money before they could follow him to the hospital and the crime scene. Upon getting there, police demanded that my dad call a photographer to take pictures of my mother and the crime scene (Mind you, this is a man whose wife had just been killed in a horrific way, yet police is making him run around in the early hours of the morning). My dad finally found a photographer who was willing to take the pictures, but not until he was paid for his services by my dad."

He averred that
"Two days later my Dad was notified of the whereabouts of some of the suspected young, evil boys who killed his wife, and they happened to be from my community. My dad was able to call people, whose identity I will not mention for security reasons, to ensure that those boys were caught. Fortunately, they were able to catch three boys who admitted they were involved in the crime. They were immediately taken to the police station and were handed over to police. My family was informed that there was an additional person involved, but when they went after this person, the suspect got away from them. I would expect police to spring into action in searching for this boy, or even go to his house to obtain a photo of him and make the public aware of his identity, but unfortunately none of these happened. As days went by, we learned that there were more people involved, and that the individual on the run knew their identity. The three suspects in custody where transferred to the State CID in Owerri. At this point, I was hearing that police in Owerri would come see the crime scene, but there was no haste in action from them in doing so. As a matter of fact, they were given money because they claimed they needed it for gas (petrol) and to charter more vehicles to enable them to make more arrests when they get to my community. When they arrived, they also asked for money for food, and it was given to them."

The USA based medical doctor queried
"As days went by, police demanded an autopsy to be done on my mother, and of course the payment to the doctor for performing the autopsy came out of my family’s pocket. That was not the end of it. It was said that the doctor who performed the autopsy would not be the one to stitch my mum’s open body. Now the person who was supposed to do it collected his own payment. But wait, that is not the end. Do you know that my dad had to also pay the photographer who was documenting the autopsy process for his services?"

"Now I ask myself, what is the job of the government and the police in protecting and serving her citizens? To know that a crime of this magnitude was committed, yet there is not much activity in catching the remaining suspected perpetrators who are on the run and no news in arraigning those in custody to court in order to begin their judgement proceedings baffles me; although I would not say I am surprised. I was told that police even obtained pictures of those suspects on the run, yet I have not seen any publication in the news warning the public of these evil doers and the threat they pose to the public. Who knows, you, your family or friend may be interacting with a suspected killer and armed robber without knowing because police have not made the faces of these suspected killers known to the public."
