A 23 year old young man was allegedly drugged and repeatedly raped by a gang of three women in an horrendous experience that lasted three days.
The victim, who boarded a communal taxi in eastern Pretoria, South Africa, when he first encountered his alleged abusers. As soon as he got in, he was driven in the wrong direction and he was ordered to get in the front seat, after which he was forcibly injected with a substance, which caused him to pass out immediately.
According to reports, ‘He stated that he woke up in an unfamiliar room on a single bed,’ South African Police Service Captain Colette Weilbach told South African news site Times Live.
‘The female suspects then allegedly forced the man to drink an energy drink before taking turns raping him numerous times a day.
‘The South African Police Service takes all sexual offences seriously, regardless of gender. [We assure] all victims of these types of crimes that we will carry out robust investigations to bring offenders to justice.’
After suffering this horrendous abuse, the victim was abandoned semi-naked in a field. Fortunately, however, he survived – and was able to flag down a passing car for help.
But despite the police’s reassurances, many in the country still don’t feel enough is done for male victims of sexual violence.
